We are a large & rapidly growing pet food manufacturer based in Mississauga Ontario and Nashville North Carolina and we are seeking a dynamic, results oriented Warehouse Supervisor.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Manager to join our team. The Warehouse Manager will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operation of the warehouse activities on all shifts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of overseeing inventory management and managing all warehouse activity in a safe, efficient and compliance manner.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.
- Oversees inventory management and loading operations within a large plan.
- Effectively growing the Warehouse capability through coaching and support, standardization of measures, and strategic development of quarterly and annually objectives.
- Oversees the daily Warehousing function, monitoring work to ensure all activities are carried out effectively and efficiently.
- Oversees the daily collection and input of statistical data in support of measuring KPI’s.
- Performs setup, layout and ensures the efficient utilization of equipment and warehouse storage space.
- Ensure employees follow the correct procedure for picking orders
- Ensure equipment is in proper working condition and take necessary action when needed to minimize down time.
- Ensure only qualified employees operate equipment and that they are operated safely at all times.
- Work with the supervisory and management team to develop a work environment that promotes good working relationships and ongoing communication with employees
- Developing and apply control methods to maintain a high level of labor efficiency.
- Taking part in any other related projects or tasks.
- Leads Warehouse processes through consistent product availability, warehouse productivity, inventory program, asset preservation and reliability, and cost reduction while consistently meeting and exceeding quality assurance standards.
- Ensure customer specifications for code dating, as outlined in picking documents, are being met at all times and in lieu of specific instruction, FIFO is strictly adhered to.
- Develop regular channels of communication with suppliers to the warehousing function, as well as, the direct functional customer in Transportation, to help mitigate circumstances that could impact daily and / or weekly plans.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Warehouse leadership role preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and quality control processes.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Food Safety knowledge (i.e., GMP, HACCP)
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in warehouse environments.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50lbs as required.
- Comfortable working in various temperature and humidity conditions within the warehouse.
