WHO WE ARE
How we got here
How we got here a.k.a. what they say about grit and determination really is true.
The early years of building Normine Lombard taught us lessons that still shape how we work today. Starting a business from scratch—with no guarantees and plenty of uncertainty—gave us a perspective that I don’t think we could have gained any other way. We learned firsthand what it feels like to make critical decisions when every hire, every investment, and every move matters. That experience created a level of empathy for our clients that remains at the heart of how we do business. A lot has changed since those early years.
What began as a recruiting company with a strong focus on the consumer goods industry has grown into something much broader. We’ve expanded into new categories, deepened our relationships across the industries we serve, and become a trusted partner to companies at very different stages of growth. We’ve had the privilege of being part of some incredible success stories—working alongside organizations as they grew from roughly $10 million in revenue to hundreds of millions.
As our clients’ needs have evolved, so have we.
Today, our work extends beyond recruiting. We provide contract HR services and help emerging and international companies establish and build their U.S. operations. For some clients, that means finding the key leaders who will shape the organization. For others, it means helping create the HR infrastructure, processes, and people strategy needed to build a business in the U.S. from the ground up. Increasingly, it means doing both.
One thing hasn’t changed: we are intentional about the companies we work with and the work we take on. We aren’t interested in simply filling positions. We want to understand where a business is going, what it is trying to build, and what kind of people and infrastructure will help it get there.
Looking back, innovation has probably been one of the biggest constants in our story. We’ve never been afraid to challenge the traditional recruiting model, adapt our services, or build something new when our clients needed it. What started as a different approach to recruiting has evolved into a much broader approach to helping companies grow.
After more than a decade, I think that’s what defines Normine Lombard today: we understand growth because we’ve experienced it ourselves, and we’ve had the opportunity to help our clients navigate it at nearly every stage.
We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but we’re even more excited about what we’re building next.
–Amanda Rader
Meet the Normine Lombard Team

Amanda Rader
Managing Partner
Amanda Rader cut her teeth in the general consumer industry and worked for seven years at a well-established contingency firm which spanned the entire product space. She helped to build some of the major names you find in the retail landscape today, but somehow going to shows for kitchen gadgets and snacks just wasn’t enough. She decided to take the leap to create Normine Lombard in 2015 to facilitate her passion for lifestyle and outdoor products. By partnering with Jeff, she was able to focus on areas of passion while he maintained the strength that had been built in the CPG and general consumer channel.
Amanda lives on the outskirts of Portland, where she works with her husband to raise their three boys and three dogs. She also has an adult son who helps maintain sanity by taking the crew of boys occasionally. (yes you heard that right, 4 boys in all!!) She has a passion for the outdoors and is driven to find adventure. You will often find her boating on the river, hiking in the hills, or sporting with the family.
Amanda is also a very active member of her community and serves as the Chair of CCHUB, Columbia County Helping Undo Barriers and is active in her church. Through her community service work she helps to empower those struggling with various life hurdles by offering training, leadership and business empowerment programs.

Jeff Lombard
Partner
Jeff is a native Southern Californian that started to fall in love with the Pacific Northwest during his years in Eugene; while getting a Sociology degree from the University of Oregon. A two-year stretch in San Francisco followed, but the pull of the Northwest was too strong. A move to Portland felt right.
Twelve years later, the city hasn’t lost its hold on him. Everything that the city has to offer culturally very much reflects his lifelong interests and passions. An admittedly ultra-urban dweller, he still very much appreciates the sheer natural beauty of the city that makes Portland living so balanced.
By joining Amanda in forming this company, his drive to solidify a sustainable future in the place he loves while working with a business partner that shares the same values is a dream come true. One that he’s grateful for every day.

Heaven Harwood
Recruitment Coordinator
Heaven joined the team here at Normine Lombard as our Administrative Assistant. She wants to gain work and life experience that she can then apply later on. Though she describes herself as shy—she wants to meet new people, build relationships, and enhance her communication skills to be the best team member she can be.
Heaven recently graduated high school and decided it was as good a time as ever to dip her toes into the workforce! When she isn’t in the office, you may find her lounging in the sun with a snack and (hopefully) a cup of kombucha in hand! If not, it’s possible she may be curled up somewhere warm with a good book, listening to a podcast, or petting her cat.

William McCartney
Senior Recruiter
William is an experienced, growth-minded Talent Sourcer with outstanding people skills. He brings Normine Lombard an understanding of various industries, enabling him to collaborate with our business partners successfully. William strives to fully understand all aspects of client role requirements to deliver the best candidates for a variety of positions. His passion is helping people bring growth and success into the communities around the world.
With a passion for art and nature he spends a good part of his free time painting or exploring nature with a variety of outdoor activities. William focuses a lot of his art on drawing and coloring mandalas using a variety of art mediums. If William doesn’t have a pen or paintbrush in hand, you would probably find him hiking the various beautiful trails around the pacific northwest, searching out new places to hike, or on adventures with friends in the lesser-known corners of the Pacific Northwest.

She is also passionate about fitness and has spent the past five years dedicated to weightlifting and powerlifting. What began as a way to spend more time with her father has grown into a meaningful passion that has taught her the value of patience, dedication, and discipline—qualities she carries with her both personally and professionally.
