PRICING DIRECTOR

The Pricing Director is a strategic leader within the Marketing team, responsible for developing and optimizing pricing strategies that drive profitability, enhance market competitiveness, and support overall business goals. This role demands a deep understanding of market dynamics, competitive intelligence, consumer behavior, and financial modeling. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset and the ability to balance revenue growth with competitive positioning, ensuring long-term sustainability and brand value.

  • Design and implement pricing strategies that align with business goals, market conditions, and competitive dynamics.
  • Develop pricing frameworks that optimize profitability while maintaining strong competitive positioning across different channels and customer segments.
  • Lead the pricing strategy for new product launches, promotional initiatives, and portfolio adjustments, ensuring a data-driven and strategic approach.
  • Partner with Finance and Sales teams to align pricing strategies with revenue, margin, and growth targets.
  • Continuously refine pricing models using predictive analytics, competitive intelligence, and consumer price sensitivity insights.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitive pricing movements, and macroeconomic factors to proactively adjust pricing strategies.
  • Utilize syndicated data sources and internal analytics tools to assess pricing performance and inform strategic decisions.
  • Conduct elasticity and profitability studies to determine optimal price points for different product lines and market segments.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for price differentiation across customer segments, regions, and channels.
  • Establish and oversee pricing governance processes to ensure consistency, transparency, and compliance across all markets.
  • Develop and implement guidelines for promotional pricing, discount structures, and trade investment strategies.
  • Work closely with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements related to pricing, including MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) policies.
  • Conduct pricing scenario analyses to assess the impact of different strategies on revenue, profitability, and market share.
  • Track key pricing KPIs to drive continuous optimization, including price realization, margin contribution, and competitive benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with Finance to assess pricing’s impact on P&L performance and develop recommendations for sustainable profitability.
  • Lead post-implementation analysis of pricing initiatives to measure effectiveness and drive future improvements.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on pricing, providing strategic guidance to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to ensure pricing strategies support customer negotiations, trade investments, and promotional planning.
  • Work closely with Brand Management, Sales, and Business Development to integrate pricing insights into broader business strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing, Business, or a related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in pricing strategy or revenue management, preferably within the CPG industry.
  • Strong proficiency in pricing models, forecasting tools, and financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop pricing strategies that balance profitability with market competitiveness.
  • Strong understanding of cost structures, margin management, and P&L impact.
  • Excellent ability to present complex pricing analyses and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working in a matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to influence decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills.
