We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Product Management to lead product strategy, portfolio planning, and team development across multiple consumer product categories. This is a senior leadership role responsible for defining category vision, guiding product roadmaps, and ensuring the successful execution of products from concept through launch.
As a key leader within the organization, you will build and develop high-performing Product Management teams, translate consumer and business insights into actionable product strategies, and partner closely with Brand, Engineering, Design, Supply Chain, Operations, Legal, and Commercial leaders to deliver innovative, market-winning products.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive 1–3 year product strategies and category roadmaps across multiple product portfolios
- Define category-level product direction in partnership with executive and cross-functional leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop Product Managers through coaching, performance management, and team building
- Establish best practices, processes, and standards for product definition and lifecycle management
- Drive portfolio planning, prioritization, investment decisions, and roadmap execution
- Align long-term brand and business objectives with product strategy
- Leverage consumer insights, market research, competitive analysis, and business performance data to inform decisions
- Serve as a category expert, identifying market trends, whitespace opportunities, and emerging consumer needs
- Lead portfolio and roadmap reviews with senior leadership
- Partner with Engineering and Operations to ensure products meet quality, cost, regulatory, and timeline objectives
- Evaluate product and portfolio performance and incorporate learnings into future strategies
- Present category strategies, portfolio performance, and investment recommendations to executive leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Management, Marketing, or a related field
- 5–10+ years of product management experience within consumer products, durable goods, hardgoods, outdoor products, sporting goods, performance gear, housewares, drinkware, or related categories
- Demonstrated success leading and developing Product Management teams
- Proven experience building and executing multi-category product strategies and roadmaps
- Strong understanding of product development processes from concept through commercialization
- Experience collaborating across Brand, Engineering, Design, Supply Chain, Operations, and Commercial functions
- Ability to synthesize consumer insights, market data, financial analysis, and business objectives into clear strategic direction
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Experience working with global manufacturing partners and overseas vendors preferred
- Knowledge of product construction, materials, manufacturing processes, and supply chain operations is highly valued
- Strong analytical and financial acumen, including portfolio analysis, assortment planning, and margin management
- Experience with PLM systems and business intelligence tools is a plus
