Position Overview:
As an Internal Business Development Representative (BDR), you will play a critical role in driving the growth of our company by identifying new business opportunities and qualifying potential customers. This role is ideal for someone with a background in retail customer experience, who enjoys heavy research and prospecting across platforms like LinkedIn, Google, and industry databases. You will collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams, focusing on lead generation, qualification, and fostering relationships with prospective clients, while managing detailed records in our CRM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation: Proactively identify, research, and generate new business leads through a variety of platforms, including LinkedIn, Google, and other online tools, with a focus on finding prospects in target markets.
- Qualify Leads: Engage with inbound and outbound leads to assess their needs, qualify their potential, and determine alignment with the company’s offerings, leveraging your retail customer experience to better understand prospect pain points and solutions.
- Outreach & Relationship Building: Initiate contact with potential clients via email, phone calls, and social media, fostering relationships that create long-term business opportunities.
- Appointment Setting: Schedule qualified meetings for senior sales representatives, ensuring a smooth handoff by providing all relevant prospect details.
- CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system (HubSpot) by logging all outreach, interactions, and progress, ensuring a clear view of the sales pipeline for the team.
- Research & Market Intelligence: Conduct thorough research into target industries, company profiles, and competitors to enhance outreach efforts and uncover new business opportunities. Stay informed of retail industry trends and customer needs.
- Sales & Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align on strategies for lead generation and campaign execution, constantly evaluating and improving outreach tactics based on performance data.
- Retail Customer Experience: Leverage your retail experience to tailor communication and approach based on the specific needs and challenges of retail clients, improving lead quality and engagement.
- Sales Support: Assist with preparing sales materials, presentations, and proposals, ensuring prospects receive comprehensive and well-crafted communications that align with their business needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-2 years of experience in a BDR, SDR, or similar role, preferably with a background in retail or B2B sales.
- Strong research skills with experience in prospecting through LinkedIn, Google, and other platforms to identify business opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage with decision-makers at various levels.
- Familiarity with CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and sales pipeline management tools.
- Strong organizational skills, with a focus on maintaining detailed and accurate records in a CRM.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
