**Must be based in the Knoxville, TN area **

Position Summary: The Controller/Finance Manager is responsible for the management of financial transactions for our company. This position is part of the company management. This position requires a high level of focus and attention to detail to ensure all financial transactions are properly documented, accounts payable and receivable are processed timely, general ledger is maintained and budgets are reviewed. The Controller/Finance Manager must be able to work independently and as part of the team. This role will gradually assume additional responsibilities for day-to-day financial management from the Finance team at HQ

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares corporate financial statements in a timely fashion.
  • Authorized signatory in company bank accounts
  • Familiar with all the relevant tax issues of the company
  • Collaborate with leadership team, CEO and international partners to recommend product discounts,
  • Oversee and take responsibility for all financial procedures and records.
  • Creates and maintains a series of financial controls and procedures for the finance department monitoring
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop an annual budget. Conduct routine audits to ensure budget is followed. Recommend adjustments or raise concerns in a timely manner.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of employee expense reports, office expenses and other departmental expenses to ensure alignment with budgetary requirements.
  • Responsible for the various ledgers including cash disbursements, cash receipts, accounts payable, month-end payroll summary, accounts receivable summary, and journal entries to adjust the general ledger. This role will post transactions in the ERP and to the general ledger using the correct GL codes/cost centers.
  • Generates monthly reports including accounts payable reconciliation, accounts receivable reconciliation, cash flow report, and balance sheet audits.
  • Audit and approve customer orders to ensure accuracy and that credit checks are completed on new customers and that current customers do not exceed credit limits. Generate invoices based on shipments to customers.
  • Collect and accurately apply payments from customers in a timely manner. Complete required follow up on delinquent and overdue accounts. Escalate issues as necessary.
  • Provides relevant financial information and reports as requested but at a minimum on a monthly and quarterly basis to executive management team.
  • promotions, rebates, and any other write offs of products.
  • Work hours outside of normal schedule as required to meet deadlines.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, or finance, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience; OR a relevant Master’s degree with two (2) years of experience.

Work Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of budgetary and accounting principles, practices, and policies.
  • Ability to manage corporate budgets and general ledger.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as accounting and ERP software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use reason to solve problems as they arise.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
